Trangia was founded in 1925 by a Swedish farmer, John Jonsson, who had a passion for technology and design. During the 1950’s Jonsson turned that zeal into the first prototype of the Trangia stove system. The concept was simple but engineering for the Triangia stove had to fit the rigors of the tough wintery climate and terrain of the Scandinavian country side, which was no easy task. For 4 generations now the Jonsson family has been striving to perfect the Trianga windproof stove technology – and though its performance has been greatly optimized the original Trianga design and idea remain the same. Since its inception Trianga has also greatly expanded their camping kitchen line to include a variety of camping and backpacking stoves, camping and backpacking cookware, and more.
