The PICTAIL 2 mounting system is the updated version of the iRay-AC52 PICTAIL. It is the combination of a standard dovetail shoe commonly used on helmet-mountable night vision optics and the MIL-STD-1913 rail used on certain platforms. The PICTAIL 2 was redesigned to increase compatibility with new mounting interface hardware that has entered the market since its original creation, while still maintaining the compatibility of the original PICTAIL with standard dovetail receptacles used in helmet mounting interface hardware made by Wilcox, KVC, and others.
