I took this little stove on its maiden voyage on a snowshoeing trip. The temperature was in the high teens and the water we boiled had ice floating in it. It took about 10 minutes and 2 oz alcohol to boil 4 cups of water.
Sure it is not as fast as a canister stove and you certainly wouldn't want it if you desired to control your flame. There is only one setting and that is full on. However, I knew all of this getting into it and it performed just as I anticipated it would. I usually do the dehydrated meals while backpacking so this will not be inconvenient at all. You wouldn't want to use this stove if you were cooking for more than two people either.
Overall, I am impressed with the quality and can't wait to take it out for another trip.

A nice solid little stove. Boils water like a champ & runs nice & clean. It is very subject to being blown out so the windscreen is a must but it comes with a decent one. One thing I don't like is that for just day hikes or overnight solos I might not bring a pot but just use my GSI Stainless water bottle. Works great on my Snowpeak stove but the flames on the Whitebox are to wide and come completely up the sides. Also, it can be a little unstable being as it is the pot rest and barely a couple inches in diameter, but a little care and it's fine.
