packing the cone up takes a little getting used to and I am concerned how the lightweight aluminum will hold up for my at through hike. Regardless so much better than any other alcohol stove cooking set up . Overall very happy with it

            Comments about Caldera Cone Stove:

This is a decent stove. It works well. Can't fry with it, no biggie there. Its main purpose is boiling water for brews and dehydes, so if that's what you'd be doing this stove will work for you. So this stove does what it is intended to do.
I've only used it 5 times thus far. I will use it more, but not as my first choice.
It is lightweight. Everything you need, except for the pot, comes packaged nicely in its own plastic container. This is its biggest downfall. Its not a small package and takes up more room than I like in my pack. The cookware must be stored separately which of course takes up more room. My Caldera Cone is set up for the Snow Peak Trek 700 Pot. So my usage of it would be only for trips of short duration where I'm not packing a whole lot.
Setting up the stove is easy, but not fast. It does offer a secure platform for the selected cookware (custom fitted). But the slow set up isn't that big an issue with me.
I am a little disappointed in its performance. I expected it to be allot faster than it is. It performs as well as the Mini Trangia 28T Stove kit with a windshield. The Mini Trangia wins the battle here with a faster set up and smaller package which includes the cookware, plus the ability ro simmer.
But, the Caldera Cone is a good stove that does work well. I don't regret my decision to buy it, and it will be used.

            Comments about Caldera Cone Stove:

I purchased this to use with a Snow Peak Trek 700ml pot. The Caldera Cone Stove is custom fit to several different sizes for several different pots. My Trek 700 fit well with this unit. The unit itself won't nest inside the pot so you'll be carrying them separate. This will take up extra room in your backpack which is why I listed for short duration hikes only. It will take up room, but it is still very light. The pot and Caldera Cone Stove together weigh in at slightly over 11 ounces, not including fuel. Not exactly ultralight, but light nonetheless.
The stove does not store excess fuel and there's no easy way to pour excess back into fuel storage bottle. So you'll have to measure out fuel each time you use it. There's a learning curve involved with using this stove based on temperature of what's being cooked, volume of what is being cooked, and pot material. Once fueled up the burner lights easily.
Once burning you can put the windscreen / pot holder ( an integrated unit )over the burner and set the pot inside the screen. Walla, you're on your way to cooking with the unit. It is very easy.
It works well too. The first time I used it was in a 6mph breeze. It did not affect the stove at all. I'm confident that this stove will perform well in heavier breezes. The windscreen and pot totally encase the burner making it virtually impossible for any wind to get it. Performance wise, that same day I got 2 cups of water at 54 degrees to a rolling boil in 6 minutes and 27 seconds using S-L-X Denatured Alcohol.
I'd call it a good buy if you already have the Snow Peak Trek 700 Pot.
