my first winter boots were a pair of Asolo Makalu GV and it just didn't fit me right...it was heavy and rigid, not very comfortable. These boots feel so much better and lighter. I'm glad with my purchase and it's priced very well!

I like the comfort and lightweight the most. Easy to put on. Doesn't weigh you down when hiking into an ice climb. Fits well with Black Diamond Cyborg crampons.
Moderately insulated, so wouldn't be ideal for high altitude climbing. I've worn them in 5 degree F temps with a mid-weight sock and they kept my feet reasonably warm.

My 3rd pair of Mammut mountaineering and hiking boots. This pair is as durable and comfortable as the others. They are stiff but do not require a break in period. I put them on and climb. Great for strap on crampons.
You could try the 10.5. These are going to have a more tight fit in general(but have some room) for the technical aspect of the boots. They are made for climbing and security. Let us know if you have any additional questions.
