Designed for alpinists and climbers, the Konseal Hoody performs as a mid layer or standalone piece. Made from air permeable Polartec Power Dry fleece with a voided grid construction, it delivers a high warmth to weight ratio and has a smooth face that layers easily under a shell. The ScubaHood fits comfortably under a helmet and integrates a Phasic AR panel that can be worn as a neck gaiter or balaclava. The articulated trim fit moves with the body, and a deep front zip ventilates excess heat.

Wow, this is amazing to write, but Arteryx version of the R1 is better than the OG. The gridded fleece pattern is the same tight mesh that other arteryx fleeces use so it’s not a soft feeling as the larger gridded fleeces (like the R1) but the thumb holes and hand cover are a better fit and finish. Made from the excellent Polartec Power Dry fabric which uses two different weaves to promote quicker wicking.
The fit is close, as a base or mid layer should be, allowing the fabric to work as intended, both wicking moisture and trapping the necessary air to create warmth.
The sleeves are a nice length and have thumb loops that allow the sleeve to cover much of your hand tho... Read more

This is a great hoody! Super comfortable and well made. It will definitely hold up to the intense demands of my lifestyle. It is a nice weight not too bulky but plenty warm. The fits is good with it feeling true to size. I am impressed as always with Arc'teryx!
