At only 2lbs 8 oz(regular) The Big Agnes Pomer Hoit 0 degree bag is by far the most versatile cold weather sleeping bag available today. The Pomer Hoit shell is made of Toray ultralight fabric and is generously filled with high-grade 800 fill goose down. The Big Agnes Pomer Hoit is perfect for fast and light winter trips alpine style climbing and anyone looking for cold weather comfort. The Pomer Hoit uses a mummy pad and we recommend the Big Agnes Insulated Air Core Mummy Pad or Dual Core Mummy Pad for coler tempertures.

I just received the bag and was impressed on how light and small the stuff sack. I have high expectations for this fall in Colorado. I pack in 6 miles off the trail head and will greatly appreciate the less weight and bulk. All I can say is I hope to give this bag a 5 rating if and when I sleep in a 20 degree night. This bag was comfortable and ideal for backcountry trips. It is lightweight and easily fitted in my pack. Can't wait for the next trip and a chance to use it again!

Q How semi-rectangular is the pomer hoit,if at all?I read it was semi-rectangular and also read it is mummy??? I am looking for a 0 to 10 degree,800+fill down,bag that is semi rectangular but will compress into a 6 litre compression sack??any brand,any price.

The Pomer Hoit is both. It is mummy which can also be considered semi-rectangular. The specifications note that it can withstand temperatures from 0-10, and the insulation type is 800+ down. You should be able to fit it into a 6 liter compression sack because it packs down to 8x7 inches.

Q It just says 850 Down, which leads me to believe it it duck down. Am I correct or is it goose down?

Q Is this a 3-season bag? When will you have it in stock?

Expert Answer

The temperature rating would qualify this bag for 4 season use, but it does not have taped seams or anything other than a treatment on the shell to repel water. We will have them in stock in the next 1-2 weeks.
