Now redesigned, the Raven is lighter, and sports an updated investment-cast, stainless steel head ergonomically improved for increased comfort while walking. The updated pick and adze geometry allow for more secure placements and efficient chopping, and the revamped spike adds better bite on those icy placements with improved plunge-ability. Great axe, especially for the money. While it's the "heaviest" of the Raven series from BD, it is still really light compared to most axes. Plus, the head is very comfortable when using it in the cane position all day. Doesn't ever put too much pressure on any one point.

Got it on outlet sale, good value. Simple and effective, head seems very strong. Got a bit lucky with my size (65cm) being cheaper than the others, so I guess that would be my only gripe. Will attach my own leash.

High quality, general purpose ice axe! Great for hiking through hard pack and getting you through the steep suff!
Very well made an versitile tool. It's my go to axe for general winter climbing. I'm very satisfied with the purchase.
Their is not a specific sizing chart for Ice Axes. I would suggest that you hold your arm at a 90 degree angle, parallel to the floor. Measure the length from your forearm down to the floor. The measurement you get is the size of Ice Axe you should use. You may have to convert your measurement to centimeters.
