I really like these pants. The fit snug enough to not bunch up around my harness and still allow deep knee lunges and bending over. The insulation is equivalent to a heavy fleece and yet they are also wind proof and water resistant. Q Are these an 'outer layer' or an 'over layer'? I've used Wild Things Belay pants for years to quickly toss on and off as I switch between leading and belaying.

These are an outer layer. They have reinforced kick patches as well.

Black Diamond states that their inseams are as follows (based on pant size):
S- 30.5
M - 31
L - 32
XL - 32.5
