It is an impression actually used. The flow of the rope is smooth, and the feeling that the rope is caught is rare. When the climber falls, the rope is securely locked and the fall can be reliably stopped. Weight is also light, material is stainless steel I think that there is toughness against wear.

this device takes time to learn how to use, but if you learn it's great ! However, if you can spare the weight don't go with an I beam biner. Choose a steel round beam with a loop lock on it and if you can't find one use an aluminum round beam with loop lock . The steel version of the strike fg might be your best bet .
My climbing partner has been a mega jul fan since the beginning but I was always set on a grigri. Once I transitioned from sport to trad the mega jul was my best option. Had a little learning curve but now I'm smooth (and safe)!

This little super lightweight belay device is absolutely awesome to work with. Its locking system is useful whether you're leading, top roping, or rappelling. It's always nice to be able to rappel down and clean your gear without to worry about not letting go of the rope.
