I took this tent on the JMT with me this past July, and couldn't have been happier. It stood up to pouring rain, hail, and even light snow. It remained waterproof completely the whole time, even when I found myself sleeping in a puddle (I was glad to have the footprint though for extra security).
The only negative thing that I could say about this tent is that its not free-s... Read more

I had a very occasional need for a 1 person backpacking tent, and while a number of lightweight models were at the top of my list (NEMO Hornet 1P & Big Agnes Copper Spur UL 1), I just couldn't justify spending $300+ for equipment that would see so little use... even with Camp Saver's great deals! After reading all the reviews I could get my hands on about the Eureka Spitfire 1,... Read more

Purchased this tent so I could tagalong on my son's Boy Scout outings. We have a MH 2-man that he uses with another scout, so I needed a 1-man. After lots of researching and review reading, I decided to go for the Spitfire. Weight was great at under 3 pounds. I try to go minimal but comfortable with a 44L pack and this fit the bill. I looked at similar tents for twice the cost,... Read more

I bought this tent primarily because of the weight. It weighs about a pound more than the description states. I have an accurate scale I use for shipping. Even without the stakes it's above weight. Other than that, the tent is great. Easy to set up, cozy. I'm short and I can sit up comfortably.
I have had this little tent for 5 years and have been very happy with it. It is not the lightest (around 3 lbs) but for the price I dont think you can beat it. A 20 in by 72 in pad fits with the corners just touching. It is a two wall tent so condensation not so much of an issue. The vestibules are small. There is storage above your head and below your feet and to either side a... Read more
I just came back from a mountain hike in freezeing temperatures and this tent worked great. Light weight, sturdy, easy to setup and take down. I added a thick plastic ground sheet that I cut out and it still fits in the bag. I leaned my pack against the tent opposite the opening side and pulled the fly over it and used the opening vestibule for my shoes. On a tight budget this ... Read more
