This is the best alcohol stove I've tried. Yes it is expensive, but it's design offers advantages over other stoves. First off it is beautifully crafted and finished. No sloppy homemade appearance. Picked this up with the Evernew stove, but also works in a Trangia 27-7 just fine. Burner works fine and seems to be a bit hotter than the standard trangia.
This is a well made, Trangia style burner. I really like the visual appeal of this stove: clean lines, compact design. It has good fuel capacity. The titanium construction makes it virtually indestructible. This stove lights easily and performs great. It doesn't take long to prime and burns efficiently. This is a great little stove for boiling water. I used it in Algonquin Park in Ontario Canada in early May 2010. The stove boiled just over 500mL of cool water in what seemed like less than five minutes. I didn't actually measure the time, but the water was ready by the time I wanted it to make instant coffee. I went with this stove because I'm ready to upgrade from homemade soda can stoves. The extra weight is an easy tradeoff for the reliability and strength. Great stove!
