Don't mess with perfection

I did lots of research and found it has a smaller jet in it than the SOL and SUMO. I ordered a new jet and installed it. It didn't work as planned and was not as efficient as with the standard jet. I put it back to stock and it works very well and is fuel efficient once again. Thank you JetBoil for engineering and producing a great product.

Fantastic backpacking stove

I absolutely love this stove compared to other light weight backpacking stove alternatives! It is incredibly light weight, easy to pack and even has space to carry the fuel canister. Boils water incredibly fast too! 1000ml in under 2 minutes is pretty hard to beat. Perfect for efficiently boiling water for multiple meals at a time.

We currently have an older model Jet Boil that we absolutely love. I purchased this newer model as an additional one to leave in our camp gear bag. Heats quickly, easy cleanup. A must have for any outdoor activities.

I used this product and it performed exactly as you expect. It boils water really, really fast. And the flame logo changes color to let you know when your water is done boiling too! Q Does this stove unit allow for an adjustable flame?

Expert Answer

The flame is adjustable, though it burns rather intensely. In other words, it is difficult to obtain a simmering level.

Q Hi, Is there difference between this Jetboil PCS stove and the Flash PCS Java Kit, other than the fact is comes with coffee and press... is the cup size the same? Also, When contents is packed away in 1L cup, does it rattle around more than it would in the .8L cup? Thanks Haydn

Everything is the same except that the Java kit includes the coffee press, etc. As far as contents goes, it doesn't really rattle any more than the original model.

Q Can I use this burner with any other jetboil cups? such as sol titanium or sumo titanium cups or any other.

Expert Answer

The PCS stove is designed to utilize the 1.0 Liter Aluminum Companion Cup only. Sumo cups have a larger diameter, and although the Titanium versions might fit, though I would not recommend it.

Q Does the lid (the part one sips through) remain on while water is heating?

Expert Answer

Yes. This will help the water to boil faster. You do not need to worry about the lid melting. This will not happen - it's made with a heat resistant rubbery plastic.
