Haven’t had a chance to use the filter in the field. So don’t know taste of water. Tried the filter in the kitchen. I threw away the instructions, so I didn’t know which is inlet/outlet for the hoses. There’s no marking. Great water to have on hand for any type of unforeseen emergency. Never know when that next storm is going to happen and need to be prepared for anything. Also allows me to stay out at camp or the trail for longer periods with having a way to filter water and not have to carry all of it.

I admit I have not yet used this filter. I purchased it more to have on hand in case of an emergency need for water than for camping trips.
