This is my first time using hiking poles.
They make a difference. They are sturdy and easy to adjust.
I did notice that the baskets came off during my first real hike with them, towards the end after 5 miles.
I put them back on and went on my way.

They were perfect for hiking in the Windriver range. I bought some for a gift too. I recommend them. They were sturdy and gave the needed support for hiking with a forty pound pack. They were also easy to hook to my pack when not in use.

These are an entry level trekking pole set, but they work great, especially for the price! The poles are easily adjustible, yet hold their position well. I did have some trouble with the cups working lose, but this was a minor problem given the great price.

Lightweight and affordable. These poles are comfortable and easy to use. They make uphill hikes a breeze without making your arms feel like you are carrying sandbags. Best bang for your buck.
