I have not yet used this product on a hike. But it looks well-built and solid. I particularly like that it has the locking mechanism that uses a little lever (with a knurled locknut to adjust the tension); i HATE the usual system that involves twisting/untwisting the pole sections together/apart - I've seen it be vert failure prone.

I have many different hiking stick products from different manufactures (hiking staffs, nordic walking poles, trecking poles, etc) and I think that Leki probably has the highest quality of workmanship and materials.
