I have many different hiking stick products from different manufactures (hiking staffs, nordic walking poles, trecking poles, etc) and I think that Leki probably has the highest quality of workmanship and materials. They are generally more expensive, but I think when it comes to this type of mobility aid you generally get what you pay for. The Sierra Speedlock Trecking Pole falls into this category.
Highly recommended at this price point! The straps provide just enough cushion without going overboard, same with the hip belt. The stitching appears to be high quality. It even includes a rain cover that's packed down in the bottom compartment.
