Product Info for Mammut Ridge High GTX Backpacking Boot - Mens
The Ridge High GTX from Mammut is a suede leather shoe developed specifically for via ferrata or "iron paths" of Italy. These boots are lightweight, direct, close-fitting and low to the ground. The integrated sole technologies with flexible ribs, special lugs, and rubber blend provide increased grip on steep terrain.

Put 6-7 miles on these boots on trail 1st out of box and these are Great! Dry conditions so far traction is good and support is great. No Break in and firm support.
Via Ferrata tread is good. Lacing is tight. Changed the insoles to thicker.

It is lighter and more attractive than I thought when I received it. When you wear shoes, you have very good gripping ability and it is very easy to catch the feathers.I would recommend this shoe to people around you.

Moving from leather backpacking boots this seems like a decent boot. I wish the sole; esp., the heel was thicker. I suppose this is due in part that they are somewhat of a special purpose boot for going up rungs in the Italian Alps. I went up a half size and went for wide sizing - I do have a wide foot. These are a narrow wide size which I hear is typical of European boots.... Read more
I work as Painter and home remodeling.
