A featherweight phenom, the minimalist Marmot Essence packs a serious punch. The state-of-the-art NanoPro MemBrain fabric is waterproof and 140 percent more breathable than previous technologies. An attached hood, integrated cooling vents and a free-moving design don't detract from the sleek, streamlined shape. Pocket-less, except for a single chest pocket, this hooded diva weighs in at a slight 5.8 ounces making her stealthy and ready to run.
Bought this jacket because it's extremely lightweight and has air vents in the armpits. Wore it out hiking in wind and heavy rain in the PNW and I was dry as can be afterwards. Will have to report back after putting it to reality te... Read more
the jacket fits perfectly and is super light; have not tried it in the rain yet. It fits nice through the body with long sleeves which will be great for activity.

I've tried many rain jackets, and so far this is my favorite. It's lightweight, packs small when not in use, breathes well, and of course keeps me dry. I appreciate the breathability the most, because I'm not getting wet internally from perspiration as I hike. It will get a lot of use here in the Pacific NorthWet!
