Product Info for Mont Bell Alpine Light Down Parka - Women's
The Mont Bell Alpine Light Down Parka gets roughly 10% lighter and softer without sacrificing durability! Functional mid-layer's flaunt characteristics essential for comfortable backcountry activity: optimized warmth to weight ratio and exceptional compressibility. The secret to the warmth of these garments not only relies on the high lofting 800 fill power goose down, but the inherent wind shedding ability of the silky 20-denier Ballistic Nylon shell. By blocking a large percentage of wind, a relatively light layer conserves the heat your body is naturally producing. Designing outdoor clothing with warmth to weight ratio in mind is great, but we also like to think the Alpine Light pieces succeed when it comes to warmth to dollar ratio.
Features of Mont Bell Alpine Light Down Parka - Women's:
Standard DWR Treatment
Micro-Fleece Lined Collar
Insulated and Fixed 2-Way adjustable hood
Draw cords for hem adjustment hidden in pockets

The jacket is a bit too big but if I'd ordered a M/L Japanese measure then this would have been perfect but the measurement guide suggested L/XL Japanese for my 36" chest. As is the norm however we do layer up during the winter months so for this purpose the size is suitable, though maybe not as stylish but my guy can wear it too! There's a lot less down than anticipated, it's ... Read more

This jacket is the best value for the price, quality and style! I watched/read reviews of this jacket on outdoorgearlab.com and they reviewed it as a great value, but a little less flattering with a "box-y fit". MontBell must have updated the jacket after their review, because it is not box-y nor unflattering. Thanks for the great jacket at a great price!

I have only had this hoodie a few weeks but the weather has been extremely cold, so I feel able to comment. At first I was thinking that I had made a mistake and it was not going to stand up to a Northern Utah winter. Wearing it indoors, I didn't think it was that warm. But then I wore it outside over a T-shirt and thin fleece to walk a couple of miles in single digit temps. I ... Read more
The zipper is very difficult to close - can't imagine getting it done with freezing fingers. The green color is NOT what the picture showed but a very bright grass green, not too bad if you only use it as a backpacking midlayer, but it cuts down on versatility (wouldn't want to use it off the mountain). Compared to the Montbell down inner jacket it's much stiffer (30 dernier ve... Read more
I love this jacket! Perfect for backpacking or hiking as it weighs nothing and packs small. It is also very comfortable and looks nice. Not sure it would be warm enough for very cold weather but great for summers in the mountains at night. I also like that it has a hood and is slightly longer than similar jackets.
Questions & Answers for Mont Bell Alpine Light Down Parka - Women's
The alpine light down jacket is not quite as warm as a stand alone piece, but is still 800 fill down and is an excellent piece to layer under. Reviews show that the Alpine Light Down works well for them in temperatures in the teens with just a light layer underneath. At this point, we don't have the Frost Smoke Down Parka coming in, however, if you...
