The Montane Ice Guide Jacket is a mountaineer's mountain jacket. Designed for cold winter ascents, this jacket features stretch PERTEX Microlight outer shell for optimum body movement and cold weather wind and snow protection. Equipped with a highly technical mountain helmet hood and specifically tailored to work either over or under technical mountaineering shells for ultimate flexibility. Filled with deep layers of PRIMALOFT in the body, hood and arms for core body comfort, providing considerable protection in hostile conditions.

Dual density zoned PRIMALOFT ECO insulation with internal baffle anchors: 210g PRIMALOFT ECO insulation to front of body. 170g PRIMALOFT ECO throughout
PERTEX Microlight forearm reinforcement for extra protection against rock abrasion
Articulated arms for reach high movement and tailored specifically to reduce hem lift
Fully adjustable helmet compatible mountain hood with three point adjustment and wired peak
Internal tab to lock down and roll away the hood in windy conditions
Soft fleece beardguard around face and mouth for extra comfort
Full length, reversed and baffled two way YKK Vislon front zip for ease of use with a backpack or climbing harness
Easy slide YKK Vislon hand pocket zips for use in icy conditions
Adjustable cuffs with grab tabs for ease of use with gloves or mitts
Adjustable hem to prevent spindrift entry and heat loss
SCOTCHLITE reflective details for mountain safety
As with all MONTANE clothing PERTEX fabric contains a Durable Water Repellency (DWR) as the first barrier to keeping you dry. Clean your garment in order to maintain this.
Machine wash in warm water at 40C/104F with a mild soap. MONTANE recommends that you use Nikwax Tech Wash.
DO NOT use fabric softeners or bleach. Drip dry.
It may be required every 6 months or so to reproof the garment to restore its water repellency.
MONTANE recommend Nikwax TX Direct.

I am a slim 5'10" man. For my purposes (mostly walking/biking around town) I don't like bulky jackets or generic colors. So far I've tended to go with Arc'teryx, but I'm glad I found this Montane jacket. I have it in Moroccan and S. It's super warm and has a very nice color. This is a very nice jacket with a well thought out design and plenty of pockets. However, it's on the small side. In the body it's fine, however, the arms are quite narrow making it hard to layer heavily under it.
