Montane Ice Guide Jacket - Mens
I am a slim 5'10" man. For my purposes (mostly walking/biking around town) I don't like bulky jackets or generic colors. So far I've tended to go with Arc'teryx, but I'm glad I found this Montane jacket. I have it in Moroccan and S. It's super warm and has a very nice color. The blue shown on this site is from last year; this year's blue is darker, with a hint of green, very close to what Arc'teryx calls "Poseidon." It's quite elegant and subtle, neither boring nor ostentatious.
Functionally the jacket is wonderful. Extremely warm, and cut in a very smart way. I have small shoulders but longish arms, and most winter jackets don't fit me very well. The Ice Guide's shoulders are cut with a slight slope, so that they would fit a broader frame as well, while on me they don't bulge and make me look like a football player.
The cuffs have *both* elastic bands and velcro, whereas most brands only have one of the two. Hood and waist are both highly adjustable.
