These stakes are great: light, strong, and hold well. There's enough bite to them that you can use them to help dig a cat hole if you need to. But they can get a little pricey if you're trying to replace the stakes on a tent.

I needed a good set of stakes for use with my hammock tarps and some tie-outs for my camping hammocks. In my world they are light weight stakes, but I think if you are a ultra-light backpacker you might want to go with the titanium, however the extra cost for the titanium didn't make sense for me. They are pretty light weight and do a good job for what I need and I am happy.

These are probably my favorite stakes. They are light and I have yet to break one. Even in rocky soil and using a rock to tap them in.
They hold good in all types of soil. Obviously not in sand or other loose dirt.

If your trying to go backpacking weight is what your trying to cut.. and every gram counts.. much lighter then traditional stakes and just as strong.. a subsitute to utilize
