Tired of nalgene bottles not fitting in ANY cup holder on earth? This is the bottle for you! Still holds 32 oz just like the standard plastic ones. developed a funky smell

I bought this bottle because it's stainless steel, relatively light and keeps temp of the contents pretty well. I used it for about 3 months, water only. It developed a really bad smell inside although I did clean it with soap and water, and a brush. The smell was so bad that I don't use it anymore. If you mean the top, there is not like the traditional Nalgene.

Q Will the loop carry the weight of a full bottle attached to a pack with a carabiner?

I have personal experience with this the loops are not intended to be used as a load bearing accessory strap. It is recommended you use some type of carrier. The loop will bear the load stationary just fine but friction over extended hikes will result in failure.
