These shoes are snug with a stiff sole, which I like for hiking over rocky and rough terrain. My feet hurt far less after a long day of hiking in these. They keep my feet dry when walking through water & crossing small creeks. The grip of the sole ethe best feature. No sliding on rocks, even wet ones. They're great for a steep climb through leaves. Highly recommend

Haven’t had the opportunity to put them to the full hiking test, but have worn them around the house, up and down stairs multiple times, just to see if they require initial breaking in.
