I am on my quest as an Adk Mountain 46R. I have 20 peaks to go and I usually set my hike up for a 3 day period so that I can climb 4 - 6 peaks over that time period. I am trying to lessen my load to that of about 30lbs and the low weight of this pack will help me to reach that goal.

After getting back into backpacking, I bought a new USGI Molle II pack that weighs nearly 14 Lbs. My load out was to heavy, I am old, LOL. This osprey pack seems very solid, plenty of room for gear and weighs in a around 3 Lbs. Very adjustable and comfortable, great pack for the money. Great pack, seems like it'll last a long time. Not a ton of bells and whistles, but it'll do just about everything you could need, at a good price point. Very comfortable, and quite adjustable. Good investment for a novice backpacker.
