They worked with Polartec to fine-tune the high/low interior grid polyester fabric (Polartec Power Dry) into an updated exclusive that's more breathable and compressible and has an improved feel and durability while still maintaining its warmth. Sized to accommodate light underlayers, the R1 works as a stand-alone top or as a light midlayer for high-output activities in cold mountain environments. The racerback shoulder-seam configuration enhances mobility and pack-wearing comfort. Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

I just took the R-1 on a ski trip to Japan, where weather conditions varied from sunny and warm, to blustery and dumping. While hiking up, I stayed dry and was able to unzip the front far down in order to help me cool off. I absolutely cannot say enough good things about this top! It's versatile, comfortable, and warm. The R1 is a great base or second layer and will last a long long time. They size a bit small; I normally wear medium and have to go with a large, girlfriend with knockers had to size up twice to XL. I ordered the R-1pullover with hopes that it would be as good as my older R-1. It is as promised. Wore it cross country skiing without a coat in 25degree weather, no worries. It laundered well in cold wash with line drying. The price and customer service were wonderful. I am 5’6 130 lbs and the medium fit just right
