I have only used my Actik Core once but the amount of lighted area and beam distance are amazing. I only rated it a four because a charger should have been included for such an expensive unit.

Compared BD headlamp, I prefer Petzl one because it is more easier to use and operate. Although Petzl one can't adjust brightness slightly and continuously, just like Apple computer, Petzl offer me a simple way to enjoy wild in night with Petzl.

Using for trail running the Petzl Active Core headlamp far exceeds my expectation. Super bright wide angle in hi mode easily lights up running trails. Extremely soft and comfortable head band, charges quickly and very light weight.

I bought this petzl actik core 450 to replace my old version 350, which works well for years, but I lost it. it comes with a core li battery, lasting as long as 4hours. 450Lm is super light enough for hiking/trekking.
