The compact Petzl Mini Traxion has 3 distinct modes of operation (pulley, progress capture pulley, ascender), making it the ideal companion for extended vertical adventures. Use it for hauling light loads, self-belay, ascending rope and self-rescue.
Features of Petzl Mini Traxion Pulley:
Efficient and compact: aluminum sheave mounted on a self-lubricating bearing
Toothed cam with self-cleaning slot: works even on frozen or muddy ropes
Cam can be locked in open position so device can be used as a simple pulley
Can be used to ascend a rope
For use with ropes from 8 to 13 mm in diameter
Efficiency: 71 %
Working load as pulley only: 2.5 kN x 2 = 5 kN
Breaking strength as pulley only: 10 kN x 2 = 20 kN
Working load as self-jamming pulley: 2.5 kN

Fantastic little device, works very well for use in a solo climbing setup [Experienced users only!].
I've also used it to haul small packs, for which it works like a breeze, rope feeds smoothly/quickly, it's small/compact/simple.
While its uses are a little more specialized than most climbing gear, it does those functions very well!
