What are differences between this version and the telescoping hands-free umbrella? closed length? open length? open diameter?

The non-telescoping version is 114 cm and 110 cm high and cannot be collapsed shorter than that. The telescoping version is 120 cm wide and 96 cm high when fully extended. It compacts down smaller however to 48 cm. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Is the means to connect the umbrella to the backpack included?

It can be attached to the pack by "...two accompanying turnable clips, the umbrella can be fastened to the two carrying belts of the backpack".
