For sun shelter can it be set up with the cloud side facing up, which will also reduce uv being reflected within shaded/protected area? Obviously it can, just asking if that is the actual intent of the design and it is not going to degrade the material. — 1 Answer

Yes, this tarp is designed to be used as shelter in all weather conditions. You should get many years of good use.
