Great question! The diameter of the tubing is smaller on the lite, as well as the max weight. It isn't made from as burly materials, hence the lighter carry weight. It is rated 260 lbs for the Lite when the One is rated for 320 lbs. Since the materials are more burly and the tubing more sturdy on the One, it only needs 3 cross bars when the Lite needs additional to ensure structural stability.
