From the picture it looks like the system would be seriously top heavy if the "pot" were filled with water. What prevents tipping or instability? Is it merely the confinement of the "pot" by the hanging wires? — 2 Answers

The lower bars fit into a groove in the stove and the cup portion is held in place by the wires as they come together at the top.

The Jetboil is designed to be hung and that provides necessary stability.
