What is the difference between this and the medium harness? Are the straps simply longer or something else? I have a medium Aether 60 with medium harness and medium hip belt but think this may be more comfortable if the straps are longer. Thanks!

The size range for the large is 20-22.5" for torso length. Also, Osprey notes, "Osprey Xenith, Xena, Aether, Ariel, Atmos and Aura packs offer interchangeable shoulder harnesses. Harness sizing usually corresponds to pack size. A properly fit harness should terminate 2" to 3" beneath the armpit when at the proper torso length. The webbing should not touch the side of the body below the padding."

Would this fit the kestrel 32 or 38?

It would not, it is made specifically for the Aether/Ariel series. The Kestrel does not have an interchangeable harness. Let us know if you have any additional questions.
