I have a 4 or 5 year old aether 70. Should I purchase the medium or large rain cover? From the specifications either would work but which would fit better?

With 70 liters of capacity, you'll likely need a large raincover. With a medium, you might be a little on the tight side.

This particular model is black, although Osprey is coming out with a high visibility yellow in the near future.

If you always pack everything in your pack and do not ove stuff, I would go with the medium. If you over stuff or attach things on the outside go with the large. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Which size should I get for the Atmos 50 in a size Large?

That pack is right on the edge between sizes. If you plan on filling it to capacity, I would go with a size Large pack cover. If you are planning on never maxing out capacity, you could probably get away with a medium. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

The XL fits a size range of 4577+ cu in / 75-110 L (XL), so it will fit.

Yes, you will need to get the XL raincover. The XL raincover fits packs that are 75-110 liters.
