So what's the real difference between this and the OR superlayer? Is the Uber just warmer?

There are quite a few real differences. Uber is hooded(that can go over helmets, the other is not. Uber has Polartech Alpha, arguably the most breathable fabric available. Uber has two zipper as well as low profile cuffs. And the pocket angles and layout are different. Hope that helps!
