What kind of lithium battery does the freedom water purifier have? I would very much like to buy one but am worried that you may not be able to ship it by air to me in Singapore because of IATA rules regarding lithium batteries.

The lithium batteries we carry fall under provisions that allow for smaller batteries inside of equipment. With that said, Singapore is not a country we ship to.

is it rechargeable only? or can you have back up batteries. in otherwords what if no charging device? thanks

The Steripen Freedom is only rechargable and cannot take "back up batteries". Its integrated battery recharges through a micro USB B port - you can use a computer, AC outlet or compatible solar charger.
