The Vital Stove features a battery powered fan(2 AA batteries) to increase flame efficiency and control. Please see the details and specs section of the products page for more information.

The principle is similar to a fan in a home furnace, or blowing on a campfire when starting it; the fan brings air to the flames to aid in combustion. Basically with the fan the fire starts easily and stays lit.
