The fabric feels soft, stretchy, and windproof. Unfortunately, I will not have a chance to test it in real life - returning the jacket to campsaver. The reason is sizing and fit. I normally wear size M, and jackets from most major manufacturers fit me at least reasonably well. With Rab Windveil, I had to go all the way to size XL before it stopped cutting into my armpits. I'm not a burly guy - 5'9" and 132lbs, and yet the small sized Windveil jacket was way too tight under my arms to keep. I'm very intrigued by the fabric, as at least in one review, it promises to be highly wind-resistant, breathable and have a permanent water resistance, unaffected by the normal loss of DWR coating. I purchased this jacket given the top review it received on Outdoor GearLab. Unfortunately, it was much too tight in the armpits. If RAB corrects this design fault, it would be an excellent jacket. I returned the jacket.
