Reviews & Ratings for Rab Windveil Jacket - Mens
— 4 reviews — Page 1
I'm not a burly guy - 5'9" and 132lbs, and yet the small sized Windveil jacket was way too tight under my arms to keep. I'm very intrigued by the fabric, as at least in one review, it promises to be highly wind-resistant, breathable and have a permanent water resistance, unaffected by the normal loss of DWR coating. I love Rab garments overall, and own several jackets and pants, but had to return these because of the poor fit.

The fabric feels soft, stretchy, and windproof. Unfortunately, I will not have a chance to test it in real life - returning the jacket to campsaver. The reason is sizing and fit. I normally wear size M, and jackets from most major manufacturers fit me at least reasonably well. With Rab Windveil, I had to go all the way to size XL before it stopped cutting into my armpits. And by the time I got to XL, whether the fabric is stretchy became a moot point - there is a lot of it flapping around.
Pros:
Excellent fabric
Cons:
Non-standard size and fit.
Would recommend: No

Great slim fit, very breathable, super light, and looks awesome. I bought this to replace my Patagonia Houdini, which I loved using for about three years but this one edges it out in every aspect. I love the fit of the hood compared to the Houdini. The clip at the top of the zipper works great when I'm running and need to vent without having the jacket flapping around. The hood can also be rolled and stashed if you don't want to be using it.
Pros:
Weight, breathable, compact, fashionable
Cons:
NONE
Best Used for:
Trail running

I purchased this jacket given the top review it received on Outdoor GearLab. Unfortunately, it was much too tight in the armpits. If RAB corrects this design fault, it would be an excellent jacket. I returned the jacket.
