I tried the Brushwood Mid Leather Hiking Boot on a 6 mile hike. The boot fit well. I felt that I did not need to break it in at all. It is a little bit heavier than my regular hiking shoe but it did not feel like a boot. The ankle support was good. I walked into the side of a stream to get the boot wet but not submerging so that water did not get up to the lace. The outside of the boot got wet but the inside was dry. Most comfortable boot, right out of the box

These boots are exceptionally comfortable, right out of the box and are solid. They're slightly different than the picture in that the laces are orange and the top of the tongue and inside lining are orange, but the other 99% of it is like the photo. I will likely order a second pair before it's out of stock.
