I don't run, but I walk a lot on trails. I used to hike in the more traditional sturdy boots--heavier and stiffer than running shoes. But these shoes give me a spring and comfort that is wonderful. Why didn't I do this years ago! And because they are gore tex, they are particularly good in the Pacific NW where it rains a lot--even if they make my feet a bit hot right now in late summer.
