Most Helpful Positive Review Fantastic Quality
I have yet to wear these hiking so this review is a little early, but my initial impressions were that these boots are of exceptional quality. I bought a pair for my wife, looked those over and decided that since the model was on clearance at a great price I bought a pair for myself. Boot fits true to size. Has great arch support. It is stiff however, but I attribute that to the way the boot is made with that exo-skeleton type of footbed just above the sole. I'm certain that they will break in quickly. Awesome Boot

The Aku Transalpina GTX Hiking Boot has been the end to my search for an awesome boot. So far used in the very wet Northwest as well as the hot and dry Southwest, as well as my everyday boot around my home area in north Idaho. Their waterproofness was amazing through snow and creeks throughout the northwest, as was their ruggedness against rocks and sandstone while hiking and climbing slot canyons in the southwest. But the most surprising part to me is how well they grip in all situations. I have a pair of Vasque approach shoes that do what they should but these actually grip better. I might not need them for a while but I bought a second pair while I could. Highly recommended. I think if anything they might run a pinch big, but that extra toe space has come in very handy on long downhill treks.

Online buy of the year.

These boots broke in quickly and are a perfect fit. Fist day out was water, mud, rocks, and roots which they handled great. Nice style and awesome grip on multiple terrain's. I can see more of AKU products in my future.

Good work boot

I use this boot for hiking and work. It has a great, sturdy footbed. The other pair I had had held up to lost of use, chems, wet/dry conditions, all types of terrain, and did miss a beat. Looking forward to using these more.
