I bought two of these to use supporting a rain or shade tarp where convenient trees weren’t available and when I couldn’t count on finding long enough branches laying around in the woods. Think beach or open grass campgrounds. Fully extended, the poles are about 7 feet long but could easily be adjusted lower for better protection in rain or wind. In a trial set-up the poles seemed very stable even fully extended. Of course, that strength comes with a weight cost so this isn’t an option for ultra-light camping. Each 3 section pole with sack included weighs about 1 1/2 pounds and is 23 inches long (two of the three sections can be extended).
Pros:
Strength
Cons:
No internal shock cord
Would recommend: Yes

I carry 4 poles in my motorcycle camping rig for a tarp setup. Speed and size (not so much weight) rule the day, and these are decent but not the best. There's no shock cording and they're a bit clumsy to set up. They're nice and tall and stout enough to not worry about them bending easily, but I prefer my Kelty Staff's to these.
