Comfortable

by James Faircloth, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on November 2, 2018
I first saw this item when a friend and his wife camped with us. I tried theirs and was so impressed with the comfort that I recently bought one. I have not used it yet for camping, but I tried it out at home. The inflator worked well and the mattress showed no signs of leaking after two day at which time I deflated it for storage. It is quite compact and will save us a great deal of space in the car over our previous sleeping gear. The mattress appears quite well made.
Pros:
  • compact when deflated, does not leak, well made, comfortable
Cons:
  • none noted
Best Used for:
  • camping, guests

Nice Air Mattress

by Troutslayer, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on September 25, 2017
A while back I bought a Twin XL memory foam mattress topper and I looked for several months for a Twin XL air mattress to go with it. This is the only air mattress I could find in that size and it gets good reviews so I went for it. I only tried it out in my living room so no real world experience to share. I thought the mattress was about as stable and comfortable as can be expected. When I dug out my mattress topper to test it with the air mattress, it was all torn up from being rolled up too tight and in my hot garage for 2 years. In order to complete the dream camping bed set up I was going for I would now have to spend more money on another foam topper. I really didn't want to do that so I went back to the search. I ended up finding the Alps Mountaineering Outback sleeping pad. I returned the Velocity Air Mattress in favor of the Outback pad.

If you like air mattresses, this is a good one. It seems very durable and about as comfortable as an air mattress can be. I am just really not a fan of the air mattress in general.
Pros:

Excellent Bed for Kids

by Imran K., from PA, United States Written on January 22, 2016
Bought this for my youngest for a 2 night camping trip. My son is approx 50 lbs. He slept comfortable for two nights in our tent, the bed did not leak any air and was very quiet compared to cheap brand air beds.

The only downside is the air pump which comes with the velocity bed, it is very loud and not very efficient.

We did not get a chance to try this with a fully grown adult, but for a small child this was perfect and held up well.
