Great toe-box redesign and traction on the trails
I started running in Altras 4 years ago and haven't stopped! What I love about the Lone Peak is the wide forefoot, but I've always had problems with wearing out the outer corner of the shoes where my toes come in contact. The 3.0 has reinforced this area which I think will add to the overall stability and life of the shoe. They were an absolute pleasure to take out on the trails. Even after a rain, they have better traction than any running shoe I've owned.

Love these! I wear them as my daily shoe in warm weather, even though I bought them for hiking. Purchased this pair as replacement for my original pair (still going strong after roughly 8 months), when they finally wear out. I have 2 other models of Altras (Neoshell and Intuition) and love them, too. However, the Neoshell ankle height hiker/boot didn't fit like the shoe and I returned it. I've read other reviewers who also say the fit is somewhat inconsistent from one model of Altra to another. YMMV
