Altra Arrows Lone Peak 4.5 Trailrunning Shoes - Men's
I love Lone Peaks. Love Altra shoes. This new version is fatally flawed however. Such a bummer because the updates are truly outstanding. I don't know if it is a design issue, a quality control issue, or both. Its probably both. The seams of the pull-loops at the heel are designed/exeuted in such a way that it laughably, and instantly create stabbing pains. The termination of the seam under the soft lining is hiding a hard projection that is IMMEDIATELY noticeable - and just from walking across the kitchen floor; I didn't even have a chance to take them for a run before I felt the pain. Not di...

I would love to review more thoroughly, but I have not received item yet. As of now though my feet are very cold, and are starting to get sore from running without shoes. As I mentioned in the pros , they are very lightweight and I can not even feel them. I really hope to update the review with more information once I receive them.
Pros:
Very light weight can't even feel them on my feet
Cons:
Haven't been delivered , feet are cold and I feel every rock and root without them
Best Used for:
Conversation with friends about what it would be like to have shoes
Would recommend: Yes

I am not 100% percent comfortable with this shoe. The footbed has less cushion than I usually have in my shoes but the toebox has plenty of room. Rather than a rounded toe it appears more angular with the largest room for the big toe. And the fabric is new to me. It is almost like it is covered in ripstop nylon. But I am not sending them back because I want to see if they are a good walking fit for me,

So far I’m extremely happy with this purchase. I feel it will truly be the altra hiking shoe. Super comfort table right out of the box. Hoping to get some decent trail time in them as long as the country stays open.
Pros:
Light weight and comfortable
Cons:
None
Best Used for:
Hiking, backpacking, trail running

For serious runners it’s not about the technology, its only about the fit, this is the only brand of shoe that fit my wide feet. The second feature is price, I am loyal to any vendor where I can get this brand at a steep discount. 9 out of 10 times Campsaver is that vendor, and I don’t care what color the shoe is, or if its last years model. I go thru too many shoes a year. If you run lots of miles & trails and they fit your feet buy them.

I really like the 4.0 but the 4.5 is not far off. I do think the quality control for this shoe is not what it should be. The heel tab is a pain as it falls off after a few yanks. The shoe is still the most comfortable for many trail conditions and just wearing around the yard.
Pros:
Comfortable
Traction
True to Size
Cons:
Quality control
Best Used for:
Trail running
