These are the best!
I have wide forefeet, and used to always have to size up considerably to avoid tons of toe blisters. After my first pair of Altras, however, I have become a convert. The Timp is no exception. These are super comfortable, have excellent room for toe splay, and great grip. The trails I run on are a mixture of forest floor and gravel fire road, and these shoes have been great. I've only got about 75 miles logged on my pair so far, so I've yet to see how they hold up long term.

Good for wider feets
Plenty of rooms for your toes, good fit and well made.
The zero drop feature is nice for natural runners. Unbeatable traction gives you confidence on trail.
Love the gaiter trap but couldn't find the right gaiter yet.
Durability to be found out. So far so good.

Great shoe
I am a big fan of Altra shoes I’ve owned approximately a dozen different pairs. The Timp has less cushioning than the Olympus and more than the Lone Peak. All are excellent. I like Altra shoes for three main reason and they are; roomy toe box, great cushioning and zero drop. The Timp not only functions well it also looks great.

Comfort, Stability, Durability!
Ditto to all the other reviews before me. I have worn Nike, Adidas, New Balance, etc. I started wearing Hoka when they came out because of some knee issues, but they started forcing my foot/ankle to roll to the outside which ended up stressing my muscles and foot. They also developed holes in the toebox. A friend suggested Altra and I bought the Timp. I hope this shoe never goes away as it is by far the best trail running shoe I have ever owned. This is my second pair and my knees are thanking me. Comfort, stability, durability!

Great trail shoes
Perfect trail shoes! Wide enough for my feet, comfy, never a hot spot or blister. Breathable, but doesn’t allow for the grit and major grime to get into the show. This is my second pair of Timphs. Ive done hundreds of hilly, muddy miles in them and. Any say enough good things Bout them. Super durable and can even do some hiking in them too.
Pros:
- Wide, comfortable, breathable
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Trail Running, Hiking

Comfortable and good price.
I am very pleased with the quality of the Altra shoes. I saw someone wearing them and asked them about them, because I have FAT FEET and she told me how much she loved the shoes. MY wife and I both have them ,I even have 2 pair. I wear 9 1/2 in new balance but a 10 in Altra fit perfect

Simply the best!
Imagine the heel stability of the Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra and the cushion of a Hoka--but with a *human* foot shaped toe box and you got the Timp. This is quite possibly the best shoe I've ever had. Now I've got a high arch with a thick instep so I need tons of cushion. But, other cushion shoes start rolling out of the heels for me after a few miles. (I'm looking at you Hoka Stinson and Bondi.) So it became a choice betwen stability or comfort. No more! These are perfect.
