Kinda disappointed with this one guys. The jacket has so far been a good a shell but it I didn’t pay 800$ for it just to be good i bought it to also last. Basically the individual layers between the shell started delaminating and creating bubbles all over the jacket which would hold water after about an hour being wet. Furthermore as I was filling out the customer service form I noticed it says 5-7 weeks less times before they could review the claim... come ooooon... for a company that markets itself as the pinnacle of gear it would seem you would take repair claims seriously enough to be able to look at a few photos in less than 7 weeks. Furthermore when I posted this review on arcteryx website ... they “moderated” the review and said it doesn’t meet their requirements... disappointing to say the least

The Alpha SV from Arc'teryx is the gold standard in severe weather protection. This piece is specifically designed to withstand the harshest conditions that the alpine environment can deliver. With burly 100d nylon and GORE Pro waterproofing this jacket is made for the mountains

While backpacking in Iceland we encountered a storm the rangers said had winds up to 70 mph, rain and fog. We hiked 17 miles that day. Everyone I talked with on the trial said their jacket leaked. Mine did not. I was warm and dry. Worth the weight and cost if you're out in a serious storm.

Alpine, wilderness, hiking, leisure, this is a very versatile shoe, my wife also thinks it is beautiful, I like it very much.
And it's still waterproof. When I walk through the stream, it gives me enough confidence to protect my feet from getting wet.

1.It's cut for layering, which is great in the winter. But also nice in the summer for the additional coverage.
2. The hood is large enough can also layer without squishing you head, should you not be wearing a helmet
3. Massive pit zips
4. Incredibly awesome pockets. They are so intuitive to use, and don't created any bulges.
5. The cuffs are super stout, and don't look to fray anytime soon. ( I've seen newer goretex pieces with questionable cuffs)
6.The black is kinda low-key, but you know it's made from the good stuff :)
7.The little pockets inside make you not carry too much in them.
8.The lacking of conventional waist level hand pockets make you carry gloves, which you should with any shell. It's not going to keep them warm. Good habit builder.

My favorite is alpha SV, which has nothing to do with price. It's not bad to wear windbreaker this season. Maybe you said LT, SL and so on. It's better when it's hot, but I think it's better to wear more clothes than SV. In winter, early spring and late autumn, SV uses more.I basically fish or hike outdoors, and rarely climb mountains, so my opinions only represent myself.

this is the dream of all outdoor enthusiasts. Archaeopteryx is a brand that everyone who likes outdoor has always expected to own, and the brand does have the best waterproof performance and wear-resistant performance. Investing in one can be used for many years, and it can optimize your outdoor experience. It's simple and versatile. It's neither vulgar nor easy to hit a shirt.

I’ve had this jacket for the beginning of the winter in Colorado and it’s been great! I have full range of motion, it’s incredibly rugged but very light, and it cuts the wind like a champ. The hood states in place with the multiple elastic adjustment. Layers perfectly with a fleece or even a thermal in freezing weather.
Cons:
- Movement is noisy till you break in the Goretex.

I can’t wait to try this jacket this winter. Got a great deal on it. The quality of the jacket just trying it on and looking over the way it’s constructed is very impressive. It has a quality feel to it. The zippers are all very smooth and the layout and design is very ergonomic.
