This was purchased for my wife as a present. Great style and appears to be well made. Zippers are good and hood fits as it should- comfortable with the option to snug it up with toggle ties. What was key about this was the fit. I bought her a large- seemed unusual at the time but was a very smart move. My wife is on the smaller side 5’3”, 125lbs but has a larger chest. This coat has adequate room throughout the chest and arm areas and has a degree of taper at the midsection of coat towards the waist. Excellent product

Already had my beta jacket myself and got this one fee my wife. Colours are great, fit chart matches and shipping was superfast. Price was better than anywhere else. Quality is as expected - excellent. Also Arcterix customer service is not to beat as their warranty is exceptional. Once brought a 3 yr old jacket to a store in Canada as I fell and tore the fabric and just wanted to ask where to fix. They saw it had a warranty issue I did not even realise and swapped it against a new on on the spot.

Amazing Jacket! (but online color deceiving)

I just purchased this jacket for backcountry skiing. It fits very well- I'm 5'6" & 175# and I ordered a Large. There is plenty of room for layering and the jacket covers halfway down my bottom. The material is amazing- first day out in the rain and it did exactly what it was supposed to do- water beaded right up and rolled away- keeping me dry!

The only thing that I was a little disappointed about was that the actual color is much darker than the picture online. I ordered Oceanus and the picture online showed a much brighter turquoise color. The color that came is still nice, but it is a darker more emerald blue/green.

Wife will use this over a Patagonia down sweater for our backpacking trips. Have not yet field tested but fit and finish are outstanding. Scored this on sale, otherwise would not have pulled the trigger.

Incredible Hard Shell Jacket

This jacket is the best hard shell that I've worn.
I've had 1 Beta LT and used it at least 2 years for more than 1000 miles hiking trips.
The reason why I want to buy the Beta AR is the critical component that the pit zip.

I got a great deal at Campsaver on the Arcteryx jacket I had been shopping for. They had the color and model I wanted and the best price I found online. The jacket was shipped in a timely manner and was exactly what was advertised! I'm happy!

Extremely Well Made Jacket

This is the most well made Jacket I have ever worn. The seams and zippers are things of beauty. I bought this jacket to wear back country and/or cross country skiing over a range of temperatures from windy and below 0 deg F to mid 60's at the end of the season. This jacket is a water proof wind resistant shell and can be worn on its own in mild weather. In colder temps, it will need layers beneath

Worth the purchase

My dad bought this jacket for me for a snowboarding trip. It was my first time going on the slopes in several years. This jacket provided great protection against the wind, and it beautifully stood out against the snow. I love the multi-functionality of the jacket. I got a medium, which was slightly oversized for me - but just how I like it. Definitely buy this jacket.

Quality jacket which looks great

I was forced into buying a new shell in order to fit multiple layers underneath for a Denali expedition. My current shell is the Alpha LT - very light and great breathability. The Beta AR is heavier but not noticeably, especially when you are wearing so many layers! The cut is great and I think the slightly heavier gortex will wear well.
